‘Setting the Scene’ is a staged theatrical multimedia setting consisting of natural and artificial props inspired by the materials, environment and the way of living in Senegal. In this setting one can take a step back to experience it as a theatre décor or break through ‘the fourth wall’ and become a part of the setting. The work challenges the viewer to wonder about the artificial environment and to blur the boundaries between fiction and reality.
